# Language

> Use the Console and polymorfa.com in English or Brazilian Portuguese, and choose whether the language follows your browser.

The Console and polymorfa.com are available in English and Brazilian
Portuguese. English is the default. Portuguese appears only when you choose it
or your browser lists Portuguese before English.

## Choose a language in the Console

Use either control. Both save the same setting on your account.

* Open **Account** > **Settings** and choose an option in the **Language** card.
* Open the account menu from your name at the bottom of the sidebar, point to
  **Language** and choose an option.

The options are **Automatic**, **English** and **Português (Brasil)**. The
Console reloads in the language you choose. If the setting cannot be saved,
the Console keeps your previous language and shows **Could not save your
language. Try again.** beside the card, or in a notification when you used the
account menu.

The language control at the top of onboarding saves the same setting.

## How Automatic works

**Automatic** follows the languages set in your browser. The Console uses the
first supported language in your browser's list, English or Portuguese. If
neither appears, the Console uses English. Other signals, such as your time
zone or location, never select Portuguese.

When you choose **English** or **Português (Brasil)**, that choice is saved on
your account. It applies whenever you are signed in, in every browser and on
every computer, and it takes precedence over your browser's languages.

With **Automatic** selected on your account, a language you chose on
polymorfa.com in the same browser still applies. Without one, your browser's
languages decide.

## What changes language

Choosing a language translates:

* Console pages, menus, forms and onboarding;
* error messages shown in the Console (error codes stay the same);
* Console notifications (some older notifications keep their original
  English text); and
* dates, times and numbers, which follow the chosen language and keep your
  time zone.

Text you or your contacts write, such as messages, templates, campaign content
and project names, is never translated.

These stay in English whatever language you choose:

* API responses and error messages, including the
  [API reference](/api/overview);
* webhook payloads;
* the [CLI](/tools/cli-api) and [SDK](/sdks/overview) output.

Polymorfa Inspector has its own language setting. See
[Theme and language](/desktop-app/install#theme-and-language).

The [Help Center](https://faq.polymorfa.com) is also available in English and
Brazilian Portuguese.

## polymorfa.com in Portuguese

Portuguese pages on polymorfa.com start with `/pt-br`, for example
`https://www.polymorfa.com/pt-br`. Pages without a Portuguese version are shown
in English.

* **Language picker.** The website navigation has a language picker with
  **Automatic**, **English** and **Português (Brasil)**. Choosing a language
  opens the same page in that language when one exists. **Automatic** follows
  your browser.
* **Automatic redirect.** If you chose Portuguese, or you made no choice and
  your browser lists Portuguese before English, opening an English page that
  has a Portuguese version takes you to the Portuguese page. Choosing English
  stops the redirect.
* **Show in English instead.** A Portuguese page shows this bar when your
  browser prefers Portuguese and you have not chosen a language. Select
  **Show in English instead** to open the English page and keep English, or
  **Continuar em português** to keep Portuguese. The bar does not return after
  either choice.

The website remembers your choice in your browser. The Console and
polymorfa.com share it. When you open the Console signed in, a language saved
on your account replaces it in that browser.

## Documentation in Portuguese

Use the language switcher on this site to read the pages that have a
Portuguese version. Other pages, including the API reference, are in English.

## Portuguese wording

Portuguese text is reviewed by native speakers after it is published. If a
translation is wrong or unclear, contact
[support@polymorfa.com](mailto:support@polymorfa.com) with the page and the
text.
